On May 26th, 2003, a 48-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in the quiet suburb of Gilbert, Arizona.
Police began questioning their main suspect, 20-year-old John Kenneth Watkins, implicating him with fingerprints they claimed were discovered at the scene and with a failed voice stress test they claimed identified him as well.
The coerced confession they got from Watkins after 4 hours of interrogation would ultimately lead to his exoneration after spending 14 years in prison with help from the Arizona Justice Project.
